Theater Group Gets Grant

Raintree County Opera House Guild, Inc., has received a $500 matching grant from the Indiana Arts Commission for productions at Summer Theater in the Park at Memorial Park. Total amount of matching grants for the entire state from an Oct. 1 deadline was $194,124.

The Opera House Guild is a Lewisville-based group with membership from over Henry County . It was formed several years ago to restore the Guyer Opera House on U.S. 40 in Lewisville , said to be the best-preserved opera house between Columbus , Ohio , and Indianapolis . It was built in 1902.
