Theater Open House Set

The Guyer Opera House in Lewisville, first opened in 1902 and closed in 1942, will be open for a public open house Sunday, July 18, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Headed by Dick and Vickie Willis of Lewisville, the Raintree County Opera House Guild, Inc., a non-profit organization, was formed to acquire, restore and operate the vintage, gaslight theater.

Target date set for completion of the theater is June of 1977. And the restoration process is to be followed in four phases.

An added feature of the public open house is the presence of K. P. Singh, Indianapolis artist, who will display his prints of the opera house. Singh will display his other prints of historical buildings during the open house.

Membership in the guild is available by purchasing a share of the historical preservation.
